We believe God speaks through his Word. Each week we open the Bible in small groups and our Campus Bible Talks to see who Jesus is and why he matters.
We’re Murdoch Christians United: a community of students committed to knowing Jesus and making him known.
Who are we?
We are MURDOCH students. We are CHRISTIANS. We are UNITED in Christ. We’re a Guild club (not a church). We are Christian students from churches all over Perth, meeting together on campus during some of the gaps in our timetables, to encourage each other, to stay strong as Christians, and to speak to other students about Jesus. We know that getting together with other Christians while we’re at uni is fantastic!

Our group is shaped and led by students, which means uni life and student voices are at the heart of everything we do. At the same time, we’re supported by staff who guide us in reading the Bible, growing in faith, and sharing Jesus on campus. Together, we’re building a community of students leading our mission, through partnership with long-term, campus-based AFES staff.

MCU is dedicated to serving and loving Murdoch Uni in practical and unique ways. So we host events and activities for both students who identify as Christian, and those curious about faith. We think the best way to love our campus is to invite everyone to know Jesus, who brings freedom and meaning to our lives.

How we
got started
Our group at Murdoch began in 1975 with a few students wanting to explore Jesus together. Over time, we’ve grown into a community of friends, learners, and leaders — all seeking to make faith meaningful in uni life. There’s a rich history behind how we came to be and our partnership with AFES, and we’d love for you to see it for yourself.

Our group is part of AFES, a national community of students discovering Jesus together. All AFES groups across Australia stand on the same biblical foundations, seeking to proclaim Jesus faithfully on every campus. Being part of this wider community means we’re connected to other campus groups, supported by experienced staff, and able to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
