Get connected
If you’d like to explore alongside others, come to an event, meet students, and see what CU is like in real life.
If you’re new to Christianity — or just checking things out — you’re very welcome to join us. You don’t need to have it all figured out, and there’s no pressure to pretend you do.
Many students arrive at uni with questions about life, purpose, and faith. Christianity answers those questions by focussing on the good news of Jesus. At Murdoch Christians United, your questions are taken seriously, and you’re invited to explore them with us together.
Uni is a time when big questions come up — about life, purpose, and who you’re becoming. You don’t need to have answers to come along.
This is a relaxed, welcoming space where people read the Bible, ask real questions, and think honestly about Jesus. There’s no pressure to speak, agree, or perform.
You’re free to listen, ask, or just take things in — at your own pace, alongside others.
We recomend you first find a church community to join first, as Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us: 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
As a new christian you will probably have a lot of questions and be wanting to know Jesus more, a church community can help do that best as you are discipled… but we still think it’s worth coming along to MCU to continue growing and learning more on campus!
The above resource is worth checking out when looking for a church to attend 🙂
That’s ok, we’re not all about the specific or technical words we use… we just want you to know Jesus more and more.
With 66 books in the bible, where do you start? If you haven’t read any of the bible yet, we recomend starting at the beginning of the New Testament with the four “Gospels” Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
If you want, get connected and we can see if you want to read ‘Mark Uncovered’ which is a book that helps take you through the gospel of Mark.

I’ve Never Read the Bible, Where Should I Start? – Desiring God
This can be a hard thing, especially when your a new christian. According to the bible, we are told that our faith is like a precious pearl, or treasure – Matthew 13:44-46: 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. – and that we should forsake all for it.
The bible also says in Matthew 5:10-12: 10Â Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me [Jesus]. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
If this something that you face, don’t face it alone… we would love to pray and journey with you!
Question wasn’t answered above… ask us if you have any questions and we’ll try and get in contact with a response. No question is too big, small or strange for us!
