MCU Prayer Updates:

October 2026

Monday 5th October 2026
As we approach our last on campus social event, please pray that people would come along and enjoy our Faith & Film event as we watch “The Case for Christ”.
Sunday 4th October 2026
At the end of November, we have our annual local NTE missions trip where we partner with a church in WA and go serve, learn and grow with them. Would you pray in advance for the team of students who go along? It’s going to be such an amazing trip as we head down to Williams and partner with the Anglican church there. Praying for more than just mcu…

Our mission statement begins: “In prayerful dependence upon God…’ The moment we depend on our cleverness, we are ruined. The moment we stop praying, we replace our sovereign God with mere strategies. So, would you pray with and for us?

AFES – Pray

Have questions

about prayer?

Prayer, to summarise, is talking to God, the creator of the universe, who invites and wants us to talk to him. It can be out loud, or in your head.

Prayer doesn’t have to be a big thing, you can do it anywhere and anyhow!

YES! God hears everyones prayers!

1 John 5:14

14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

And Philippians 4:6 says

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

1 John 5:14-15

14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

According to 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18: 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

God desires that we always or “without ceasing”, pray and talk to him!

It’s also part of how we do what Colossians 3:2 tells us:

2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

The bible helps us when we don’t know what to prayer in Matthew 9:6-13 (NIV)

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

The Psalms (in the old testament) also have many prayers to God from people who went through many different circumstances.
